
The Ocean State Center for Independent Living with support from the RI Foundation, INSIGHT, and RI State Services for the Blind will host an event focused on Macular Degeneration on May 31st.
The Ocean State Center for Independent Living (OSCIL), with support from the Rhode Island Foundation, INSIGHT and Rhode State Services for the Blind, will host an event focused on macular degeneration on Thursday, May 31st from 1PM – 4:30 PM at the Radisson Airport Hotel in Warwick.
The event will begin at 1PM with a vendor and agency fair featuring more than a dozen low vision technology dealers including nonprofit organizations who provide services for people living with vision loss.
Presentations will follow with ophthalmologist Dr. Harold Woodcome leading a panel discussion about macular degeneration and the latest in treatment news. The panel will include several local eye care professionals. After the panel there will be an opportunity for those in attendance to talk with the panelists in small discussion groups.

The fee for the event is $20 per person, $35 for professionals. Along with the vendor fair and panel discussion there will also be a dessert buffet and free door prizes. Space is limited.
