How to Help

Your donation to INSIGHT makes a big difference in our efforts to help people who are blind and visually impaired to live more independent and productive lives.  Your donation, no matter the size, helps to underwrite the costs of our programs and services allowing people to access them at little to no cost.

Support Groups

Support groups bring together people who are living with vision loss to help them find ways to overcome the isolation, loneliness, and frustration that they may be feeling. Support groups also create opportunities for people to learn from each other and form lasting friendships.

Living with Vision Loss is a six-week, facilitated, small group workshop for people who are newly adjusting to vision loss.  This is a small educational group where participants work with an INSIGHT staff member to work through the frustrations of vision loss and developing strategies for remaining independent.  Topics include the challenges of giving up driving and communicating with friends and family.  

INSIGHT also supports several local monthly Community Support Groups that often feature presentations from INSIGHT staff members and guest speakers. The groups also provide people in the same geographic area with the opportunity to come together and offer peer support to each other as. A current list of active community support groups are listed below.
